Custom Box Overlays
Custom Box Overlays
I often shoot a lot of corporate pieces and to help me break it apart in the edit.. I use my own overlays to to help get away from the piece feeling too sterile
In this pack are carefully placed overlays to help guide you where to place your videos
The overlays are very easy to use, just drag and drop and select the correct ‘Blend mode’
Only time consuming part is cropping your video to fit the boxes
How To Use :
Always place your background video first in your timeline, then you can start adding the videos that you want in the boxes
For the mattes that have 2 squares, the ‘Matte’ file will have to be place on your 4th video layer. Then add the 2 video files you want in those boxes below. If using a ‘matte’ file that only has one box, then just add the ‘matte’ layer on the 3rd video level
First add the ‘Matte’ overlay above the back ground video
Then add the video you want in that box below the ‘matte’ layer. Then set the ‘matte’ file blend mode as ‘Multiply’. Then all you have to do is ‘scale’ and ‘crop’ the video to fit inside the box
Once that is set, place the ‘Outline’ layer above the ‘matte’ layer, this one doesn’t need a blend mode
Then place the ‘vhs’ above and set the blend mode to ‘screen’
Then place the ‘Grain’ file above the ‘vhs’ layer and set the blend mode to ‘Overlay’
Then place the ‘Burn’ layer above the ‘Grain’ layer and set the blend mode to ‘ Screen’
..
(Technically the ‘Matte’ layers are not needed as the ‘Outline’ file shapes the boxes for you to place your video files. But I left the ‘matte’ layers in the pack in case you don’t want a background video, this way the ‘matte’ layers will act as a matte and keep the square layout / Hope that makes sense) haha
Files are UHD 3840x2160
If you want to use them in a 1080p timeline, simply just scale down the clips 50%
Enjoy :)
HOW TO USE:
TIP:
I also like crop the ‘Grain’ overlay to fit in the box ..so the box images are grainy while the background image is clean
